Maureen began sewing the first pair of swimming shoes as a way to protect her child’s feet from burning on hot cement by the pool and getting scratched on rough beach terrain in the scorching desert heat. As a solution, she developed COÉGA’s original Pool Shoes, with one clear goal: to prevent kids from slipping, burning, or injuring their feet while enjoying their favorite aquatic activities.

With the introduction of this innovative Pool Shoe, the first of its kind in the region, the Pool Shoes phenomenon began. It wasn’t long before the original design was enhanced with heat-resistant soles, creating a new standard in aqua shoes. Designed to provide both safety and style, these shoes quickly became a family staple, evolving into a full line that includes water shoes for kids, water shoes for men, and water shoes for women.
